Renting a Vehicle in Trowbridge
- To hire a vehicle from Trowbridge Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, although specific age restrictions may apply depending on the vehicle type, with extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification, proof of your current address, and provide payment information along with a security deposit. 3. Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be completed on our website, via phone, or directly at our Trowbridge office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment along with a security deposit is generally required upon vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was provided, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Late returns may incur additional fees, so contact us as soon as you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
5. Insurance and Liability
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance. You will find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts outlined in your Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to lower your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, irrespective of existing insurance.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Charges may apply for late cancellations or no-shows, so it’s important to be aware of these terms.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses in Trowbridge
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should be used only for its intended purposes and within the designated passenger and weight limits. Driving beyond agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
